A key component of the Campus was a field visit to Baan Khun Samut Chin, a coastal community located near the mouth of the Chao Phraya River in Samut Prakan Province. Over the past several decades, the community has experienced severe coastal erosion, land loss, subsidence, and environmental change. As a result, it offers a compelling site for understanding how local experiences are shaped by processes operating across multiple scales—from upstream water management and sediment disruption to metropolitan expansion and global climate change.
